PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for calculating behavior of an external additive in a cleaning process at a high speed.SOLUTION: A calculation method calculates behavior of an external additive in a cleaning process that scrapes off with a cleaning blade, toner and the external additive accumulated on a photoreceptor drum of an electronic photographic image forming apparatus. In a system formed by applying constrains of a driving wall representing the cleaning blade and a driven wall representing the external additive and moving following the driving wall, the walls existing on a toner accumulation surface of the photoreceptor drum and having a constant distance between the walls and the toner accumulation surface, to the driving wall, the driven wall, and particle representing the toner, a computer converts interaction between the particle and the driven wall to interaction between the particle and the driving wall to calculate motion of the driving wall, and calculates motion of the driven wall on the basis of the motion of the driving wall and the constraints, to calculate behavior of the external additive. |
