PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator control system or a method in preparation of the case of the evolution of harmful gas within a building with an elevator installed therein.SOLUTION: When harmful gas is detected by a harmful gas detection device which is installed at each of landing floors where a car stops in normal circumstances, the harmful gas detection device detecting harmful gas, an elevator control device receives a signal including information indicating a landing floor where the harmful gas is detected and the kind of the detected harmful gas. When the harmful gas is detected, the elevator control device switches an elevator from a normal operation mode to an evacuation operation mode, and on the basis of the information about the landing floor where the harmful gas is detected and the information about the kind of the detected harmful gas, determines an evacuation operation time landing floor where the car can stop during the time of evacuation operation, allowing the car to stop only at the evacuation operation time landing floor. |
