The chuck has a base body (2) for coupling the chuck to a spindle of a machine tool, and a clamping section (3) connected with the base body and provided for clamping a tool i.e. cutter head. The clamping section is designed as a casing section. A single-piece, molded section comprises cavities (9) in an inner area, where the cavities form an enclave in the molded section. The cavities form a ring portion-shaped channel in a circumferential direction, where the channel runs concentrically to a rotational axis (R) of the chuck in an inner side of the molded section. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a tool holder.
