PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing bud formation of a tree and a sheet used therein capable of: saving labor or cost required for maintenance and management of the tree by reducing the number of sprout branches to be a target for pruning; protecting the tree from sunburn, damage caused by cold weather, insects and animals, and the like which lead to rotting or damping-off; and allowing unique decoration using the silhouette of the tree.SOLUTION: It is adopted a method of covering the surface of a stem S and main branches B of a tree T by surrounding them tightly with an air permeable sheet 1. The sheet is made of fabric having: a light-shading rate of 95% or more; a vertical tensile strength of 100 N/5 cm or more; a horizontal tensile strength of 50 N/5 cm or more; a permeability of 1.0×10cm/sec or more; and a weatherability of 70% or more. |
