PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape feeder capable of preventing troubles occurring on an apparatus caused from a foreign matter such as minute component entering into a movable part of a drive mechanism while handling minute components.SOLUTION: A sprocket drive mechanism of a tape feeder includes: a sprocket drive gear 22 coaxially coupled with a sprocket 13 for pitch-feeding a carrier tape 15 at the side thereof, which is engaged with a drive gear which transmits rotation from a rotation drive source to transmit the rotation to the sprocket 13; and a circumferential groove 24 which is formed in a circumferential direction in a coupling portion of the sprocket 13 below an opening gap G between a side face of a main body 5a forming a tape travelling path and a side face of the sprocket 13. With this, a foreign matter such as a minute electronic component 16 which falls via the opening gap G can be caught by the circumferential groove 24. |
