PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent problems of accidental fire of an engine, lowering of emission, and degradation of fuel economy after a starting mode, in a control device of an engine which executes the starting mode for starting the engine by injecting a fuel into a cylinder in a compressed stroke in cold starting of the engine, and an AWS mode for operating the engine by injecting at least a part of the fuel in the compressed stroke, when an AWS operation condition is established.SOLUTION: A control device of an engine includes an ECU 30 executing a transition mode for operating an engine by injecting at least a part of fuel in a compressed stroke, and retarding an ignition timing with respect to a starting mode but advancing the ignition timing with respect to an AWS mode in transferring form the start mode to the AWS mode. |
