PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction heating apparatus capable of detecting boiling-over with certainty, and controlling a heating power depending on an amount of the boiling-over.SOLUTION: An induction heating apparatus comprises: a top plate on which a cooking container is placed; a substantially-circular heating coil generating an induction field for the purpose of heating the cooking container; a heating controller controlling a high-frequency current to be supplied to the heating coil to control a heating power for the cooking container; a plurality of circular arc-shaped electrodes arranged on a lower surface of the top plate along an edge of the heating coil; and electrostatic capacitance detection means detecting a change in an electrostatic capacitance generated at the electrode due to adhesion of a cooked object onto the top plate. In the induction heating apparatus, when the electrostatic capacitance detection means detects a change in the electrostatic capacitance in at least two electrodes among the plurality of electrodes, the heating controller controls to reduce or stop the heating power, and thereby, the boiling-over can be detected with certainty. |
