PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicast distribution system applicable not only to download but also real time multicast distribution, without increasing the load of processing work by adding a novel function to a transmission source, i.e., a server, and without causing any increase in network traffic, and complementing the missing data occurring when the data cannot be received correctly.SOLUTION: A router comprises a data table storing the IP address of a reception side device asserted to participate in multicast distribution. Disclosure request means of a reception side device with missing data, out of a plurality of reception side devices, requests a nearest router to disclose the IP address in the data table. Search means inquires a reception side device whether or not the data distributed by multicast has been received correctly, out of the IP addresses thus disclosed, and searches a reception side device received correctly. Reception means receives the missing data from the reception side device thus searched. Complementation means complements the data thus distributed with the missing data thus received. |
