The present invention relates to an up-down hood latch assembly for a vehicle, comprising a latch shaft arranged on a hood latch of a vehicle; a safety hook below the latch shaft to accept the hood latch shaft; and a lever connected to the safety hook through a spring. A lever is positioned at the bottom as the spring is pressed down when a hood of the vehicle is closed; and is lifted as the latch shaft pops up to loosen the spring when the hood of the vehicle is opened. Therefore, the present invention improves collision prevention properties and enables creative design as the lever pops up to enable an open operation when the hood is opened and the lever is positioned outside a collision area to prevent a secondary collision between a pedestrian and the lever after a primary collision between the pedestrian and the hood when the hood is closed. |
