The present invention relates to a fire retardant coating composition and, more specifically, to an environment-friendly fire retardant coating composition since the composition has low harmful gas and exhibits low emitting by uniformly mixing organic/inorganic flame retardant, melamine or melamine derivative, nonionic surfactant, coupling agent and modified acrylate-based dispersing agent. The present invention comprises 100 parts by weight of organic solvent, 1-50 parts by weight of inorganic retardant, 1-50 parts by weight of water-soluble phosphate flame retardant, 5-100 parts by weight of melamine or hexaalkoxymethyl melamine, 1-10 parts by weight of nonionic surfactant, 1-10 parts by weight of coupling agent, 1-10 parts by weight of antioxidant and 1-10 parts by weight of modified acrylate-based dispersing agent. The present invention exhibits excellent water repellency, blocks flames in fire by applying organic/inorganic composite materials with low harmful gas and low emitting to general materials or industrial materials and is able to prevent the damage of human life and damage of property by absorbing poisonous gas in gas. |
