PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device capable of suppressing leakage of a discharged waste ink.SOLUTION: The device includes: a recording head; a purge mechanism; an ink absorption member; and a control unit. The control unit calculates a waste liquid amount that indicates an ink amount discharged from the recording head by discharge operation within a period of specific time back from discharge timing. When the calculated waste liquid amount is lower than an upper limit value of an ink absorption amount of the ink absorption member within the period (S120: No), the purge mechanism performs the discharge operation (S130). When the calculated waste liquid amount reaches the upper limit (S120: Yes), the purge mechanism does not perform the discharge operation at discharge timing. |
