The magazine (46) has a magazine housing (47) insertable into a downwardly opened retainer of a system box of a repeating rifle. A control element (53) for an insert (1), a sear (3), and a switch is arranged at the magazine housing. The insert, the sear and the switch are switchable between extractor weights. The control element is designed as a pivot lever, which is movable between two positions in a rear transverse wall of the magazine housing. A spring is arranged at the magazine housing, and holds the control element in the both positions. An independent claim is also included for a repeating rifle.
