Ex vivo method for inserting nucleic acids in cells

Ex vivo incorporation of nucleic acids in cells and/or tissues, comprises (a) providing a composition comprising at least one organic solvent, and (b) contacting the composition ex vivo with cells and/or tissue after the step (a). A complex made of at least one nucleic acid and at least one organic cation is present dissolved in the organic solvent.
