The present invention, a method for communication between vehicles using a telematics apparatus, includes four major steps: a step for the telematics apparatus in the initial vehicle to receive a call request signal and information on the second vehicle from a driver and transmitting the call request signal and the information on the second vehicle to a telematics center; a step for the telematics center to determine whether the second telematics apparatus in the second vehicle is in an activated state; a step for the telematics center to transmit the call request signal to the second telematics apparatus and receive the call reception signal from the second telematics apparatus when the second telematics apparatus is in the activated state; and a step for the telematics center to connect the first telematics apparatus with the second telematics apparatus via wireless communication to provide a calling function when the call reception signal is received. According to the present invention, communication between the vehicles is relayed based on an identifier of the telematics apparatus, so that drivers in the different vehicles can be provided with a convenient and safe calling function.
