PURPOSE: A dryer having a laundry sensing device and a controlling method thereof are provided to sense an amount of laundry according to a change of wind speed of hot air passing through a drum, thereby controlling drying operation time. CONSTITUTION: A wind speed sensor(210) senses wind speed of hot air supplied to the inside of a laundry receiving drum. A controller(200) determines drying operation time by data received from the wind speed sensor. The wind speed sensor comprises a fan equipped on a passage to which the hot air flows inside the drum. A temperature detection sensor(220) senses temperature of air discharged from the drum. After laundry is received in the drum, the drum is rotated while a heater is driven. |
