PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a porous metal foil in which a porous metal foil has a porous property in which homogeneity is high, and a porous property corresponding to an object can be obtained.SOLUTION: A production method of a porous metal foil is a production method of a porous metal foil in which a metal microparticle is sintered to produce a porous metal foil, and includes: a mixing process in which a sodium chloride fine crystal particle that comprises a rectangle three-dimensional shape in which the longest side is 1 μm to 50 μm and a metal microparticle that comprises a particle size that is the same or smaller to a particle size of the sodium chloride fine crystal particle are mixed; a press process in which a mixture obtained by the mixing process is press-molded to a thickness corresponding to a thickness of the porous metal foil; and a removal process in which the sodium chloride fine crystal particle included in a structure body obtained by the press process is removed.
