发明名称 Improvements in crude-oil burners
摘要 586,869. Crude oil burners. DEKKER, A. May 2; 1940, Nos. 7888 and 7889. Convention dates, May 10, 1939, and March 20, 1940. [Class 75 (i)] A crude oil burner comprises an annular vaporising pan 12 having a bottom sloping from a ridge 35 to a sump 30 and fitting closely on the bevelled upper edge of a lower pan 18, a cover 8 for the pan 12 having an upward extension 7 forming with the pan wall 25 a vapour outlet slit 9, and a jacket 26 for preheating the air entering the burner through tangential slots 15 in the lower edge of the pan 12 and through holes 23, 24 in the pan wall 25. At starting the pan 18 is turned by a handle 33 to cause a slight gap between the pans 12, 18 by the engagement of inclined parts 36, 37 of their contacting surfaces and oil is supplied to the inlet 28 of the pan 12 through a pipe bent to prevent the entrance of air. This oil overflows into the pan 18 at a hole 31 in the sump 30 and is there ignited by a match thrown through the gap between the pans. The flame ascends to the chimney 1 through the aperture 29 in the pan 12 and around a heat-conducting column 27. Vaporisation of the oil in the pan 12 is thereby effected and this vapour passes through the slit 9 to burn with air entering through the holes 29, 24, whirling of the flames being caused by inclined vanes 4, 19 on the cover 8 and pan 12 respectively. The pan 18 is then turned back to its original position sufficient air for the combustion of the reduced quantity of oil reaching the pan 18 entering through the slots 15. The lower surface of the pan is covered with heat insulating material 34 protected by a plate 20.
