PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric material which does not contain lead and potassium and has good insulating properties, good piezoelectric properties, and a high Curie temperature.SOLUTION: The piezoelectric material comprises a main component containing a perovskite type metal oxide represented by general formula (1) (NaBa)(NbTi)O(wherein 0.80≤x≤0.94 and 0.83≤y≤0.94) and a sub-component containing at least one element selected from Mn and Ni. The content of Ni is 0 to 0.05 mol inclusive based on 1 mol of the perovskite type metal oxide. The content of Mn is 0 to 0.005 mol inclusive based on 1 mol of the perovskite type metal oxide.
