PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe pile that can have the base protected to sufficient strength and secure high reliability in a clay layer and a gravel layer, and a construction method thereof.SOLUTION: A hollow steel pipe has a plurality of belt-like leg parts (12A) formed at a tip part, and tip parts of the belt-like leg parts are formed into pointed ends capable of moving into a clay layer or gravel layer. The hollow steel pipe is provided with a guide base (20) having a conic or hemispherical guide surface at an upper part. When the hollow steel pipe is pressed in relatively to the guide base, the belt-like leg parts are guided by the guide surface to be spread outward moving into the clay layer or gravel layer, and a plurality of discharge holes (20A) for cement milk are formed in the guide base. |
