The present invention provides a connector (10) for biomechanical purposes, e.g. for use in dental or orthopaedic surgery. The connector comprises a core (1) having a generally spherical body mountable between base and cover units, which allows for rotational movement of the core unit. Preferably the connector allows the core to be selectively locked in a desired orientation. The connector allows for robust and balanced connection of restorative components to anchor components (6). The connector allows for angular flexibility, which allows a clinician to place anchors in the most appropriate position for secure and robust fitment of the restorative component.
