A refrigerator control switch similar to that of Specification 1,025,267 is provided with further contacts for manual initiation and automatic termination of defrosting. The further contacts may energize a defrosting heater or may control a valve to pass hot gases to the evaporator. The normal cycling contacts 27, 28 are controlled by a bellows 121 via a lever 100 having a lug (101) bearing on carrier 38 of contact 27. Depression of a defrost button 208 causes pivoting of a second lever 200 which is snapped to a lower position by a spring 202 so that contacts 27, 28 are opened and the further contacts 27<SP>1</SP>, 27<SP>11</SP> closed, Fig. 3, or contacts 27, 28, 27<SP>1</SP>, 27<SP>11</SP> are all closed, Fig. 14 (not shown). The spring 202 assists normal biasing spring 120 to oppose expansion of the bellows.</p> |
