<p>A method of emptying explosive material (18) from a munition shell (10) is described which comprises the steps of forming an opening at one end (14) of the shell casing, venting the opposite end (16) of the shell, suspending the casing from the opposite end, and heating the shell (10) by passing a high frequency alternating current through an induction coil (20) surrounding the shell casing (12), heat being applied to soften the explosive material (18) sufficiently for the explosive material to drop out of the casing (12) under the action of gravity.</p> |
