<p>The frequency of an electrical signal at a node in an electrical system having a plurality of nodes (114 120) is estimated by determining a current function indicative of a property of the signal at the node at the current time in accordance with a determined property of the signal at the node at the current time, a previous function indicative of the property at the node at a previous time, and a function of the error in the previous frequency estimation. A current function indicative of the property of the signal at another node at the current time is received from the plurality of nodes. The current function at the node and the current function at the other node are then combined to produce a current combined function at the node at the current time. Finally, a current frequency of the electrical signal at the node is estimated in accordance with the current combined function.</p> |
