The invention relates to a hybrid metal-plastic component applicable to an automotive vehicle and a process for manufacturing same. The component comprises first and second metal base bodies (1, 2) having respective portions in contact in which there is an attachment point (4) wherein a projecting metal securing element (6) fixed to the second metal base body (2) is inserted through a securing hole (5) formed in the first metal base body (1). A plastic reinforcement body (3) has a fixing portion (3a) overmolded at the attachment point (4) on a surface of the first metal base body (1) opposite the second metal base body (2) and embedding said securing hole (5) and said projecting metal securing element (6). The first and second metal base bodies (1, 2) are thus attached by the plastic reinforcement body (3) in cooperation with the projecting metal securing element (6) and the securing hole (5).
