PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier that inhibits the breeding of underwater microorganisms, by preventing the bactericidal components eluted underwater from adhering to the surface of submerged members and the like, thereby avoiding a decline in the concentration of the underwater bactericidal components. SOLUTION: This humidifier comprises a water tank 1 which stores water 4, an vaporization type humidifying element 19 which is partially immersed in the water 4 of the water tank 1 with stacked disk-shaped or hollow-disk-shaped base materials, a driving mechanism that performs rotational drive of the vaporization type humidifying element 19 continuously or intermittently and in a forward or backward direction, a blower disposed at the upper part of the water tank 1 to discharge wind coming from an inflow entrance 6 through a discharge port 7, and a bactericidal component discharge section 10 disposed inside the water tank 1 to discharge bactericidal components and prevents the breeding of microorganisms. The vaporization type humidifying element 19 retains the water 4 on the surface of the part pulled up from the water 4 of the water tank 1 by the driving mechanism, while the blower vaporizes the water 4 retained on the surface of the vaporization type humidifying element 19 by glow-out from the inflow entrance 6, and discharges humidified air from the discharge port 7.
