METHOD FOR ACCELERATING RANGE QUERY PROCESSING ON R-TREE VARIANTS INDEXING STRUCTURES USING GPU

Disclosed is a range query acceleration method of an R-tree based hierarchical index structure through GPU parallel search. The range query parallel acceleration method of an R-tree based hierarchical index structure comprises a step of processing a range query using a G-tree structure for parallel search in a graphic processing unit (GPU). The step of processing a range query applies R-tree indexing to some dimensions corresponding to a low dimension among total dimensions of given data and searches the other dimensions by using the GPU.
