The present invention relates to a brake for stopping equipment, which includes a disk to which a given power value is applied, sensing lines as a conductor spaced apart from at least one side of the disk in a parallel relation with the disk, and a sensing unit detecting the power values of the sensing lines, comparing the detected power values of the sensing lines with a previously set reference value to determine the contact between the disk and the sensing lines, and determining whether the disk swings or not in accordance with the compared result. According to embodiments of the present invention, the power values of the sensing lines disposed in parallel to the disk of the brake are detected in real time, and it is determined whether the contact between the disk and the sensing lines according to the power values of the sensing lines occurs. Next, it is determined whether the disc swings or not according to the occurrence of the contact. Accordingly, the operating state of the disk can be in real time sensed, and if the disk slantly swings due to the defect or malfunction of the equipment, appropriate treatment can be rapidly applied therefor.
