The present invention relates to a DC power generation device and a generation method thereof capable of high efficiency compact design comprising an AC load unit which is driven by AC power; a switch unit which switches the AC load unit by using a control signal; a power transformer which is connected to both ends of the switch unit and transforms the AC power when the AC load unit turns off by using the switch unit; a first rectification and smooth unit which outputs DC power by rectifying and smoothing the voltage transformed in the power transformer; a second rectification unit which is connected to both ends of the switch unit and rectifies the voltage when the AC load unit turns of by using the switch unit; a second smooth unit which outputs the DC power by smoothing the voltage rectified in the second rectification unit; a first high voltage blocking unit which outputs the voltage rectified in the second rectification unit when the switch unit turns on under a predetermined level; a second high voltage blocking unit which blocks the output of the voltage rectified in the second rectification unit when the switch unit turns off; a constant voltage unit which offers the DC power to the DC load unit from the first rectification and smooth unit and the second rectification and smooth unit; and a zero cross photo triode AC unit which detects a zero point of the AC power and controls the switch unit according to an on/off control signal of the outside.
