The present invention relates to a control method for preventing freezing in a dishwasher, and, especially, to a control method for preventing freezing in an existing dishwasher, wherein the control method comprises the following steps: a control part respectively receives a water temperature and a water level detection signal detected through a water temperature sensor and a water level sensor in a rinsing tank and a washing tank, and continuously determines whether or not water temperature is under a specific temperature (T1) while a water level in the corresponding tank is at least a predetermined water level; performs an anti-freezing operation by operating a heater installed in the corresponding tank when the water level is at least the predetermined water level and the water temperature is under the specific temperature (T1) even in one of the rinsing tank or the washing tank based on a previously determined result; continuously detects the water temperature and the water level in the corresponding tank through the water temperature sensor and the water level sensor respectively installed in the rinsing tank and the washing tank on which the anti-freezing operation is performed, and continuously determines whether or not the water level in the corresponding tank is not detected or the water temperature in the corresponding tank exceeds a specific temperature (T2); and shuts off the operation of the heater installed in the certain tank, on which the anti-freezing operation is performed, when the water level in the corresponding is not detected or the water temperature in the corresponding tank exceeds the specific temperature (T2). Therefore, the freezing in the rinsing tank or the washing tank can be completely prevented so that the usability, the marketability, and the reliability of a product can be largely improved; and an anti-freezing heater mounted on a water supply pipe can be replaced with the heaters respectively mounted in the rinsing heater or the washing heater so that production costs for the product can be largely reduced.
