The present invention relates to an apparatus for capturing carbon dioxide and a method for capturing dioxide thereof capable of cutting costs and enhancing the effects of capturing carbon dioxide. The apparatus of the present invention comprises: an absorption reactor having an absorbent container storing an absorbent and collecting carbon dioxide by the absorbent in contact with the flue gas injected from a lateral unit in a countercurrent manner while falling; a regeneration reactor on the lower part of the absorption reactor separating carbon dioxide from the absorbent; a cooler on the lower part of the regeneration reactor cooling the absorbent from which the carbon dioxide is separated; and a transfer system connected to the lower part of the cooler and the upper part of the absorption reactor to transfer the absorbent cooled in the cooler to the absorbent container. The apparatus for capturing carbon dioxide of the present invention is characterized in the integral formation of the absorption reactor, the regeneration reactor, and the cooler.
