The present invention provides an apparatus for measuring a contact ratio of a catenary, which comprises: a current sensor for measuring a current of a catenary; a current measuring unit for performing signal processing by amplifying and digitalizing a measured value of the current sensor and wirelessly transmitting the signal-processed measured value of the catenary; a monitoring unit comprising a waveform analyzing unit for acquiring and analyzing a current waveform by using the signal-processed measured value of the catenary which is received from the current measuring unit, and a contact ratio calculating unit for detecting a contact break time based on the waveform analysis result of the waveform analyzing unit and determining a contact ratio between the catenary and a pantograph. Therefore, current collection quality of an electric railroad can be evaluated by analyzing, in real time, the current value measured by using an apparatus for measuring the current of the catenary and the current of the catenary according to an operation of a rail motor, calculating the contact ratio between the pantograph and the catenary, analyzing a current supply pattern, and determining whether the pantograph contacts the catenary. Current collection quality of all electric railroad vehicles passing through a measurement section can be measured by direct measurement in the catenary. Thus, the normality or abnormality of electric railroad vehicles can be easily determined.
