A connector, comprising a connector fitting including a mounting portion and a shield collet extending therefrom, wherein the shield collet is adapted to receive a portion of coaxial cable therein. The connector also includes a clamping nut including a ramped interior surface operative to engage an outer surface of the shield collet, whereby, urging the clamping nut toward the mounting portion causes the shield collet to conductively interface with the coaxial cable. The connector can also include a conductor ferrule housed in the mounting portion and configured to receive a center core conductor of the coaxial cable.
