PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coefficient decision device capable of approximately compensating for signal damages by determining an initial tap coefficient for an equalizer closer to an optimum value by using a training sequence provided in a transmission signal, and then causing a receiver to further process the signals.SOLUTION: A coefficient decision device includes a synchronizer for searching for a position of a training sequence within a data signal, where the training sequence is provided in the data signal received from a transmitter, and a first processing device for determining an initial tap coefficient for an equalizer based on the received data signal and training sequence. In each polarized wave condition, the training sequence includes n pairs of training codes, and in the n pairs of training codes, the training codes of the same pair are identical, the training codes of the different pair are different, a cyclic prefix and a cyclic postfix are respectively provided before and after each pair of training codes, and n is an integer greater than 1. |
