PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dietary supplement having hypoglycemic action, which contains silkworm gel and silkworm powder made from silkworm, capable of effectively lowering blood glucose level.SOLUTION: The dietary supplement having hypoglycemic action is manufactured by levigating silkworms in the fifth instar stage with a grinding machine into a gel, which is then treated with microwaves. The microwave irradiation allows the gel to be dehydrated and dried in a short time at low temeperature, preventing a specimen from being thermally denatured or oxidized. Consequently, silkworm powder having high hypoglycemic action can be highly efficiently manufactured. |
