CULTURE MEDIUM FOR FOOD POISONING BACTERIA, AND METHOD FOR DETECTING FOOD POISONING BACTERIA

It becomes possible to proliferate multiple food poisoning bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus simultaneously and properly in a single culture medium. A culture medium for food poisoning bacteria comprises peptone, yeast extract and magnesium sulfate. A method for detecting food poisoning bacteria comprises: proliferating multiple food poisoning bacteria including at least Staphylococcus aureus simultaneously using a culture medium comprising peptone, yeast extract and magnesium sulfate; extracting DNA from each of the proliferated multiple food poisoning bacteria; adding a primer for specifically amplifying a region of interest in the DNA extracted from each of the multiple food poisoning bacteria to a PCR solution; amplifying the region of interest by PCR; and detecting the resultant amplification product.
