PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toll collection system capable of preventing a vehicle from colliding with a start control device even when the vehicle backs toward the start control device.SOLUTION: A toll collection system is provided with: a road side radio device which is arranged with respect to a road which a vehicle enters in a toll gate of the toll road and operates radio communication with an on-vehicle device mounted on the entering vehicle; toll collection processing means which operates collection processing of a toll on a vehicle by radio communication between the on-vehicle device and the road side radio device; a start control device which is arranged downstream the road side radio device in the vehicle driving direction and controls a start/stop of a vehicle in accordance with a result of the toll collection processing of the toll collection processing means; imaging means which images an image on a road downstream the start control device; backing vehicle detection means which detects a vehicle backing in the downstream side of the start control device on the basis of the image imaged by the imaging means; and control means which confirms a state of the start control device when a backing vehicle is detected by the backing vehicle detection means, and sets the start control device to the vehicle start state when the start control device is in the vehicle stop state. |
