A method and a first network node for managing an Ethernet network are disclosed. The Ethernet network comprises the first network node, a second network node and a third network node. The Ethernet network is configured as a Spanning Tree Protocol domain, STP domain. A first root is serving the STP domain. The first network node detects a failure of the first root. Then, the first network node sends a respective first frame indicating a second root to serve the STP domain. The first network node receives, from the second network node, a second frame indicating access to the first root via the third network node. Next, the first network node discards the second frame indicating access to the first root. |
