PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of preventing corrosion of a current collector foil and manufacturing a positive electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a positive electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery includes the steps of: (i) forming a pre-drying positive electrode mixture layer by applying a positive electrode paste containing a lithium metal composite oxide and water onto a current collector foil in a thin-film form; (ii) forming a positive electrode mixture layer by introducing the pre-drying positive electrode mixture layer into a drying furnace, irradiating the pre-drying positive electrode mixture layer with infrared light from the side of the pre-drying positive electrode mixture layer and applying hot air to the pre-drying positive electrode mixture layer, and drying the pre-drying positive electrode mixture layer within 30 seconds after the pre-drying positive electrode mixture layer is formed; (iii) forming a pre-drying positive electrode mixture layer by further applying the positive electrode paste onto the positive electrode mixture layer in a thin film form; and (iv) forming a positive electrode mixture layer by drying the pre-drying positive electrode mixture layer obtained by the step (iii) as in the step (ii). This method performs the step (iii) and the step (iv) at least once. |
