A multifunctional composite drug coating sustained release system comprises a transition layer and a drug-loaded degradable coating, wherein the transition layer is a ceramic transition layer having different porosity, the lower layer of the transition layer is a dense layer, and the upper layer of the transition layer is a porous layer. The multifunctional composite drug coating sustained release system is helpful to internal fixation and also has a bacteriostatic function. A method for manufacturing the multifunctional composite drug coating sustained release system is also provided. The method comprises the steps of preparing the biocompatible ceramic transition layer on a metal surface, and then preparing the degradable drug-loaded coating on the surface of the transition layer.
