PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a window capable of efficiently utilizing illuminance and heat by incident light for improving habitability.SOLUTION: A dimmer 1 of a window 100 includes: a first substrate 11 having optical transmittance; a first electrode film 15 having optical transmittance formed on one face side of the first substrate 11; a second substrate 12 having optical transmittance arranged oppositely to the first substrate 11 via a prescribed gap; a second electrode film 19 having optical transmittance formed on the second substrate 12; and an electrolyte medium 23 which is disposed in the gap and contains an electrolyte. When the first electrode film 15 and the second electrode film 19 have equal potential, they enter a light transmission state, and when the potential of the first electrode film 15 is higher than that of the second electrode film 19, the electrolyte in the electrolyte medium 23 precipitates on the second electrode film 19 to become a mirror surface state, and when the potential of the first electrode film 15 is lower than that of the second electrode film 19, the electrolyte in the electrolyte medium 23 precipitates on the first electrode film 15 to become a black state. |
