LAYING HEAD GUIDE PATH OPTIMIZATION METHOD

A method of processing a range of products having different diameters in a rolling mill laying head (30) in which the products are directed along a path defined by a curved guide (60), comprising: subdividing the range of products into multiple subdivisions; providing multiple interchangeable curved guides, with each curved guide being internally dimensioned to accommodate the diameters of the products in a respective one of the subdivisions; and when processing products within any one of the subdivisions, equipping and operating the laying head with the curved guide assigned to that one subdivision.
