PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a secondary damage in the event that a driver has become unable to drive.SOLUTION: A driving support device comprises: state determining means 2 which determines a state of a driver who drives an own vehicle; information acquiring means 11, 12, 13, 14 which acquire surrounding information including information about a preceding vehicle traveling ahead of the own vehicle; and vehicle control means 4 which performs follow-up control including vehicle speed control and steering angle control so that the own vehicle travels following the preceding vehicle. The vehicle control means 4 automatically starts the follow-up control to follow the preceding vehicle on the basis of the surrounding information acquired by the information acquiring means 11, 12, 13, 14 in the event that it is determined that the driver is in an abnormal state by the state determining means 2, and stops the own vehicle and ends the follow-up control when stop information of the preceding vehicle is acquired by the information acquiring means 11, 12, 13, 14 while it is performing the follow-up control. |
