A steam cracking catalyst, comprising iron, aluminum, molybdenum, platinum, manganese, and an alkali metal, where the iron and aluminum are simple substances, and the molybdenum, platinum, manganese, and alkali metal are either single substances or respective compounds of selves. An application of the steam cracking catalyst in cracking water to produce hydrogen. A method for preparing the steam cracking catalyst, comprising: crushing into power the compositions of the catalyst, using an adhesive that does not react with the compositions of the steam cracking catalyst to mix thoroughly the compositions, and then compression molding under pressure. A method for direct combustion of the hydrogen acquired from steam cracking, comprising: introducing steam into an inlet of a pressure vessel containing the catalyst, extracting from an outlet of the pressure vessel a gaseous mixture of hydrogen and oxygen acquired from cracking, and introducing the gaseous mixture and an ignition agent into a combustion site or introducing respectively the gaseous mixture and a laser light into a combustion site for ignition. |
