FREE-FORM SURFACE PROGRESSIVE MULTIFOCAL LENS AND DESIGN METHOD THEREFOR

<p>A free-form surface progressive multifocal lens and a design method therefor. An extended axisymmetric quadric formula is used to construct an initial surface type. Through iterative optimization of a quadratic coefficient and curvature parameter of each point on a surface, a final lens surface type and optical properties are obtained. An astigmatism area is compressed substantially; a maximum astigmatism value is decreased; astigmatism distribution is milder; the channel width is increased, effective visual areas of a lens are obviously increased; comfort of a wearer is improved; the ADD value is large. The lens is especially applicable to presbyopia and ametropia patients who are sensitive to aberrations.</p>
