The present invention relates to a new type of an exhaust gas purifying system capable of allowing exhaust gas to pass through a catalyst only when necessary and in addition, minimizing an entire size of a catalyst supplying structure for selectively supplying the catalyst, and a method of controlling the driving of the same. To this end, the present invention includes a catalyst supplying apparatus for supplying a reducing agent and a catalyst apparatus having a catalyst. The catalyst apparatus includes a catalyst housing formed of a hollow pipe to discharge exhaust gas introduced from one side through an opposite side thereof; a catalyst frame which is rotatably installed in the catalyst housing and to which the catalyst is installed, wherein the catalyst is selectively disposed in a perpendicular or parallel direction to a flowing direction of the exhaust gas such that the exhaust gas passing through the catalyst housing passes through a catalyst installing portion or not to be directly discharged to an outside according to the disposing direction; a driving unit for supplying driving force to the catalyst frame such that the catalyst frame is selectively rotated; and a control unit for controlling the driving of the driving unit by determining whether the catalyst frame is to be used. |
