The present invention relates to a display device capable of preventing the defect of a driving power transmission line and damage to a common electrode generated by the same and a method for detecting a line defect thereof. The present invention includes a plurality of driving power transmission lines which transmit driving power to pixels; at least one defect detection line which intersects with at least one driving power transmission line; and a defect detection part which outputs a defect detection signal to at least one defect detection line, collects a feedback signal which is generated from the defect detection line according to the defect detection signal, and determines the defect of the at least one driving power transmission line based on the comparison of the defect detection signal with the feedback signal.
