PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply an ammunition system enabling aerial initiation, capable of obtaining fragment effects and enabling remote control. SOLUTION: The ammunition system 1A includes an ammunition 2, a fragment jacket 10 and an airburst unit 12. The ammunition 2 includes a warhead 3 having a shell 4 filled with bursting charge and a contact fuse 5 operated by impact blast to initiate the bursting charge. The fragment jacket 10 covers the periphery of the warhead 3, is attachable/detachable to/from the warhead 3 and is fragmented by burst of the warhead 3 to scatter fragments to the periphery. The airburst unit 12 is attachable/detachable to/from the warhead 3 and applies blast to the contact fuse 5 during flight together with the warhead 3 for operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
