A tunable antenna and a portable terminal using the same are provided to improve a tuning performance by directly controlling a physical/electrical length of a radiation part through a switch. A first radiation part(11) and a second radiation part(12) are separated. The first radiation part processes an electric wave of a first band. The second radiation part processes an electric wave of a second band lower than the first band. A feeding part(13) applies a signal current to the first radiation part. A switch(14) is connected between the first radiation part and the second radiation part. The switch is turned on/off by external magnetic field. A switching control part(15) controls on/off operations of the switch. The switching control part is made of an electromagnet or a permanent magnet. |
