PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio IC device capable of preventing an occurrence of positional deviation of an electronic component without increasing manufacturing cost, and to provide a method for manufacturing the radio IC device.SOLUTION: A radio IC device 1 includes: an IC element 40 for performing radio communication with a communication device to process a communication signal; a base material 31 having a component mounting surface 31 P with the IC element 40 mounted thereon; a first case 10 having a recessed part 12 which exposes the component mounting surface 31 P with the base material 31 fitted thereinto; and a second case 20 molded by filling a molten filler into a cavity 114 formed between a mold 113 arranged oppositely from the first case 10 and the first case 10 to cover the base material 31 fitted into the recessed part 12 and the IC element 40 mounted on the base material 31. The IC element 40 is mounted at a final filling position at which the filler is finally filled on the component mounting surface 31 P. |
