PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nitrogen oxide removal device and a nitrogen oxide removal method that effectively remove nitrogen oxide included in an exhaust gas.SOLUTION: A nitrogen oxide removal device includes a reductant supplier which generates a reductant from an initial material through a thermal reaction using thermal energy of an exhaust gas of a first engine, and a catalyst reduction part which removes nitrogen oxide included in an exhaust gas of a second engine through a catalyst reduction reaction using the reductant, and the exhaust gas of the second engine is supplied to the catalyst reduction part not via the reductant supplier.
